A Cebuana Queen

And as if we are not through of hearing success tales of our compatriots conquering the beauty scenes abroad, here is another one to cap the current year with glory and welcome the new year with promise.

Razzini Alexis Gomez representing the Philippines was crowned as Miss Tourism International 2012 in the pageant finals held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the new year's eve of December 31.

The 22-year-old registered nurse from Cebu bested 54 other delegates representing various countries in the world to become the second Filipina to win the title in the history of Miss Tourism International. The first Filipina to capture the same crown was Esperanza Manzano back in 2000.

Completing our new queen's entourage were Miss Australia (1st runner up), Miss Venezuela (2nd runner up), Miss Paraguay (3rd runner up), and Miss Malaysia (4th runner up). Rounding up to the top ten were Miss India, Miss China, Miss New Zealand, Miss Russia and Miss Thailand.

All hail to our new queen!
